Alpine Wellness Program Steps to the Forefront - by Brent Dodge

Welcome to the new Wellness Program at Alpine Physical Therapy, and thank you for joining us in striving to optimize your health.  As physical therapists, our goal is to provide you with the tools you need to feel great and get the most out of your daily life.

We are choosing to take a little extra time, free of charge, to assist our patients in making the lifestyle modifications most beneficial to their health.  Once a week, we record body weight, heart rate, and blood pressure.  In addition, every four weeks, we take body circumference and skin fold measurements to monitor changes in body composition and mass.

We have new participants fill out a brief questionnaire about their food choices, stress management, exercise schedule and other lifestyle choices.This gives us a better idea of what area of wellness participants would most like to focus on.

Our goal in this process is simply to increase peoples’ personal awareness of their lifestyle decisions and the impact these decisions can have on overall health.  We also hope to also assist our patients in making the most reasonable and effective lifestyle modifications to help them reach their goals.

At the conclusion of physical therapy, we review the wellness program and help in setting set realistic, long-term goals.  After participants complete the program we are available to see them once every eight weeks for a complete wellness screening . . . on us.
