Incontinence, pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and bowel dysfunctions, are all sensitive conditions that require specialized knowledge and training to address. Many people are unaware that trained Physical Therapists treat these conditions and can provide successful treatment results.

Treatments are individualized and will vary depending upon the person’s specific diagnosis and impairments. Notably, pelvic floor muscle retraining is commonly an integral component in treating pelvic health conditions.

We invite you to call for a free 10-minute consultation or to schedule an initial evaluation. Tara can be reached at our north office in Missoula at 406-541-2606.

Functional Dry Needling Introduced at Alpine - By Brent Dodge

Three of Alpine’s physical therapists were trained recently in the use of Functional Dry Needling (FDN). Our training was led by Internationally known physical therapist, Edo Zylstra, owner of Kinetacore in Brighton, Colorado. Edo’s company  has trained over 1,000 physical therapists in this exciting form of treatment.
Since returning from the training in August, we’ve treated about 150 people so far, and the results have been profound. It’s proving to be super effective in sports injuries, back and neck pain, as well as hip, shoulder, and knee pain.
I’ve practiced physical therapy for 21 years and have constantly sought out the best and fastest means of helping my clients. In all these years, I’ve come across several exciting forms of therapy. Until now, I haven’t found a treatment with such immediate and impacting results. It’s likely because with Functional Dry Needling you’re able to treat all the way through a muscle. Doing so releases tight muscle bands, abolishes trigger points, and can help the muscle activate. The end result is reduced pain and increased muscle function.
Functional Dry Needling is a treatment for muscular tightness and spasm that can happen from an injury or simply from the changes our bodies undergo over the life span. This muscular tightness and spasm may put pressure on and irritate the nerves that exit the spine. In turn, nearby muscles may also go into spasm. Resultantly, problems further away from the spine can occur, such as carpal tunnel, tendonitis, and osteoarthritis . . . along with a loss of mobility and heightened pain.

If you’re putting up with ongoing pain, tightness, or reduced sport performance, I encourage you to consider seeing one of our trained physical therapists for Functional Dry Needling. Call our clinics at 251-2323. And be sure to check out our webpage on Dry Needling by clicking here.
