In mid-November, Alpine Physical Therapy was honored with accolades and a team picture from MT Alpha Cycling amid great food at drink at Alpine’s Downtown clinic. Brent Dodge owner of Alpine PT was present to receive the award and responded by stating: “MT Alpha Cycling is a powerhouse group of adult and junior female athletes who put in a ton of hard work again this year. They are clearly on fire about cycling and being a part of this incredible all-women’s cycling group. Alpine’s opportunity to sponsor this fantastic group of people is another highlight of being involved in Missoula’s athletic community!”

Alpine Physical Therapy has stepped up to the plate as a tier one sponsor for MT Alpha Cycling. Alpine has been behind this team from the very beginning and we couldn’t be more excited to have their support. Just 3 years ago we had 8 girls that wanted to race mountain bikes. Now we have something much, much bigger. MT Alpha Cycling is Montana’s premier women’s-specific mountain bike racing team. It was developed by a couple of friends who wanted to create a safe haven for women to develop their skills in a male-dominated sport. When creating the team, we had no idea there would be so much community support and so much excitement surrounding a team like this. Due to high demand, the team has expanded to a race team, a club team and a junior development team. We recruit every spring at our annual BBQ. If interested, please visit our Facebook page for updates on the event set for April 13th. MT Alpha Cycling puts on the Kettle House Beer League Series at Marshall Mountain for 5 weeks leading up to the Pro XC Tour race. This is a great way to get exercise on warm summer nights and cool off with a FREE Kettle House Beer. MT Alpha also puts on a women’s skills clinic at Ten Spoon Winery with 10 elite coaches. This event sold out last year and was a fantastic day. We made some exciting changes for this year and expanded the event from 60 to 80 riders. If interested, please sign up early to ensure your spot. Registration can be found on usacycling.com or montanacycling.net starting on April 15. Other exciting events for the 2014 season include a big-little program. Our Junior development team has grown tremendously over the past year and so this year we are starting a mentorship program. Each race team member will be paired with a junior member. This will foster the development of our youth on the trails and be a great way for our racers to give back to the community. We are really excited about this program. If you have a daughter between the ages of 12 and 18 interested in riding, send us a message on our facebook page. We would love to get her involved. Cycling is a little like skiing. It can be expensive and that is a limiting factor for a lot of women and girls interested in racing. This year it is our goal to break down some of these barriers. We are starting a scholarship program. If you or your daughter fit this description, please email mtalphacycling@gmail.com. This program would not exist without the support of our sponsors. We can’t thank you enough ALPINE! See you on the trails!
Listen, and you’ll hear the buzz about Missoula’s hottest new biking team, Montana Alpha. They represent Montana’s first all-women’s mountain bike team. You won’t be able to miss their brightly colored, animal print uniforms with the Alpine logo proudly printed on them.
