CoreAlign®
The CoreAlign® functional training tool challenges the body unlike any other exercise and rehab method. It’s design has two carts that move independently of one another on separate tracks. Resistance on the tracks can be varied from heavy to light on front and or back anchors. Many exercises are performed in a standing position, but the CoreAlign® exercise postures can be adapted to many sport and task-specific motions. Training exercises on the CoreAlign® combine movement and stability to prepare the body for real life challenges from gardening to mountaineering.
Who Benefits?
People rehabilitating from back and neck pain, joint problems, and sports injuries are ideally suited for treatment with CoreAlign. Aging adults, people with osteoporosis, and others with pain conditions also benefit because of the low impact nature of the exercises. High level athletes including racquet enthusiasts, runners, and golfers will find the method challenging and varied, while also enabling them to establish a powerful core for improved sport performance.

Samantha Schmidt, Master CoreAlign® Instructor (CAMI)
Samantha Schmidt, a Physical Therapist at Alpine and Balanced Body University Faculty Comprehensive Pilates Instructor, happened upon the device in 2009 and met the unit’s inventor, Jonathan Hoffman, a physical therapist from Tel Aviv, Israel. Immediately seeing the potential of CoreAlign, Sam arranged to go through advanced training. Having completed all three levels of certification, she attained status as a Master Instructor in March 2010 and was initially one of only 12 people in the world with this distinction. Balanced Body Pilates, a company that provides over 60% of the world’s Pilates market, commissioned Sam to test the prototype and assist in the development of the the CoreAlign product.
Alpine PT missoula: One of the First Training Centers in the world
Notably, Alpine Physical Therapy became one of the first national training centers in the world. Alpine Physical Therapy received four of the first 100 CoreAlign units that were built and shipped in March 2010, becoming one of the only clinics in the nation to have this technology.
CoreAlign inventor Jonathan Hoffman traveled from his home in Israel to Missoula to assist with integrating this new method into the continuum of rehab, fitness, and sport performance. Jonathan oversaw Alpine’s first certification course for all of Alpine’s physical therapists, as well as five fitness and Pilates instructors, which was held at Alpine Physical Therapy’s South clinic within the Peak Health and Wellness Center.CoreAlign is heating up to take the rehab and fitness world by storm, and we’re proud at Alpine Physical Therapy to pioneer tomorrow’s technology . . . today.
